About me
Lindsey St.Amour was born and raised in Vermont and has been committed to supporting people with disabilities since her youth, when she began volunteering to help students with disabilities learn to swim. That early experience sparked a lifelong passion, leading her to work as an assistant teacher in a classroom serving children with autism and later as a behavior interventionist.Lindsey graduated cum laude with a double major in philosophy and psychology from Barnard College, Columbia University. She then graduated cum laude from Vermont Law School in 2013 and began working with Disability Rights Vermont (DRVT) even before completing her degree in an advocacy role. After becoming a licensed attorney in Vermont later that year, she served as a staff attorney at DRVT, representing individuals in discrimination cases before the Vermont Human Rights Commission and, for several years, focusing on the rights of crime victims with disabilities. In that role, she worked to ensure victims’ rights were upheld during criminal prosecutions and assisted victims seeking protection orders.In May 2021, Lindsey stepped in as Acting Executive Director during a time of organizational transition following the retirement of longtime director Ed Paquin. She was appointed as the permanent Executive Director in July 2021 and continues to lead DRVT in its mission to defend and advance the rights of people with disabilities across the state.
