About me
Tanya Hughes is an attorney and public administrator serving as Executive Director of the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO) since 2013. Beginning her career at CHRO as an investigator and staff attorney, she rose through the ranks to lead the agency's civil rights enforcement, public education, and anti-discrimination efforts statewide - including racial profiling prevention and equity and disparity studies.
Active in her community, Tanya is a member of The Links, Incorporated; Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; and Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated. She serves as a Board Trustee for Optimus Healthcare Foundation in Fairfield County and represents District 7 on the Hamden Democratic Town Committee.
